I was a guest at my good friend Ching's wedding last Saturday, June 28. I was itching to bring most of my photo gear but I told myself that I should enjoy the wedding AS A GUEST. And I was with my wife - I think it might be a little rude if I left her alone while I cover the wedding as a "guest" photographer.

I brought my D80, 50mm F1/.8 lens, a 2GB SD card, and the neck strap - nothing more. No speedlights, no camera bag, no handstrap, no extra battery and memory cards, nothing.

I wanted to move around the church but I forced myself not too. The lighting was warm and diffuse inside the church. I told myself that I would have had a grand time shooting if I were the official photographer.

For most of the reception photos, I used the pop-up flash.

Our Friend, Jacque, along with some of her friends, organized a birthday party last June 11, 2008 for her long-time friend Sarah. The party and mini-concert doubled as a fund-raising event for Children's Garden Philippines.

It was a night full of song and music. Almost everyone who held the mic did a song or two. This was one musical bunch!

Jacque did a great job at setting up the venue. The venue was already elegant, but the balloon accents and overall setup certainly added festivity and character to the event! I suggest that you check out Party Boosters or drop Jacque a line if you want to liven up your party!

Side note: This shoot almost killed me out of anxiety. One of my favorite photography equipment, my speedlight, got busted a few minutes before the event. I had to use my low light lens more often. I had to step back a great deal especially for group shots because this lens' zoom is fixed (2x-3x of the more common wide setting). And thank God for the mobile's flood light, most of my shots would've been impossible without that.

No, I'm not talking about rules for the beach.

It's been a while since I took artsy photos. Yesterday, I had the quick opportunity to take photos in a beach resort in Nasugubu, Batangas while my family is resting after eating a heavy lunch.

It was a great and grand wedding coupled by a reception full of music with songs dedicated by Joe to Ritzie.

Preparations were done in Manila Pavilion Hotel while the wedding was in Binondo Church followed by a Gloria Maris reception.

Photos taken for Imagineer Digital.

We attended D's christening last Sunday. Even with a baby (our own baby A) and a big diaper bag in tow, I felt the itch to take photos of the event. Right before the ceremony started, I asked permission from my wife if she will allow me to cover the ceremony. Obviously she said yes.

The ceremony was short and intimate - not too long to make baby D fussy and not too short to miss out on important details. I was not able to take photos during the reception because then I really had to attend to our baby.

You are looking at the sale of the following items:

===

A) 1.3 year old Canon Powershot S3 IS, 52mm Lensmate Adapter

Price: 11,000 pesos non-negotiable

Reason for Selling: Too many cameras in our household and I already have a DSLR.

Warranty: None

Condition: 9/10; used but not abused. There are small signs of wear and tear on the 4-way button and the shoot/play switch.

Inclusions: S3 IS, unused USB cable, audio/video cable, 16 MB SD card, CD-ROM, box, and various manuals

Notes: I haven't checked the shutter count but I guess this is not a good indicator of quality for a point-and-shoot because it uses an electronic shutter. I used it almost everyday for 9 months to document my wife's pregnancy and our baby's first months.

See photos of the unit to appreciate.

Sample shots taken by this camera are in my flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=S3+IS&w=69699949%40N00&page=3

B) Lensmate 52mm adapter, lenscap (from lensmate), and Hoya linear polarizing double-coated filter. (See http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/order_S2_1.html and http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/S2.html)

Price: 1,400 pesos non-negotiable (selling as a package only; bought this lot in the US for $49 when the forex was 1:46)

C) Lowepro Edit 110

Price: 1,500 pesos non-negotiable

Condition: 9.5/10

Notes: Bag bought together with the S3 IS. I attached a buckle underneath the bag to strengthen the belt loop. The original velcro of the belt loop is not strong enough to hang the bag and camera on your belt. See photos for graphical explanation.

===

Location and preferred meeting place: The camera is in Commonwealth Ave. QC. Meet-ups preferred in and around the area. Other meeting places can be arranged if they coincide with other personal trips.

If all of the 3 items are bought as a package, the price is 13,400 pesos.

Thanks for looking!

It's my first time to photograph this kind of thing.

I could have done better but I guess this is ok for a first timer. I'd have to ask my poi-yielding friends what constitutes a good fire poi photo and what needs to be avoided.

I have more photos in my hard disk but I'm still not sure if I'll share them or if they are worthy of the Recycle Bin (then Empty Recycle Bin). Enjoy!

You are looking at a 2 year old shoulder camera bag/ belt camera bag suitable for small video cams (e.g. mini-DVD video camera). It is perfect for the family videographer and point-and-shooter.

Price: 1,600 pesos (bought at Infomax for 2,600 pesos)

Reason for selling: Not being used - it's just taking up shelf space.

Location: Item is in Commonwealth Ave., QC. Meet ups only in or around this area. Other meeting places can be arranged if it coincides with other personal trips.

Contact details: Text/Call (0928) 506-6626; e-mail napolinario@gmail.com

Condition: Overall - 9.5/10; Appearance - 9/10; Quality - 10/10

Notes: This item was bought 2 years ago when we received our Sony video cam from the US. A month later, we received the original Sony camera bag as part of the package (which we did not know was included). I opted to use the Sony bag for practical purposes. This bag was only used occasionally for a month.

It was kept in a sealed plastic bag for the rest of its life. I think there is some slight discoloration of the gray top cover. the discoloration is uniform (not in patches) so it doesn't look bad at all.

Look at the pictures to appreciate.
